4th and 5th Grade Students: Want to join Student Leadership?

Hello Ryan Road Families!
Our Student Leadership Team teachers, Mrs. LeBeau, Ms. Gardiner, Mrs. Lamanna, and Mr. Plourd, are offering a Student Leadership Team Club for 4th and 5th grade.

This class is a great chance to learn more about leadership and collaboration. Whether your student has experience, or if they're just curious and want to try it out! We will be working on a variety of leadership skills while learning new things about working together, enhancing our community, and practicing what it’s like to serve as a leader in a group. 

It will be held on Monday afternoons from 3pm until 4:15pm.

If you’re already enrolled in the NPS-offered after school program, then you can “Sign Up” for the club via Bright wheel. If you have any trouble signing up, please email me directly.

If you’re not enrolled in the after-school program, Mrs. LeBeau, Ms. Gardiner, Mrs. Lamanna, Mr. Plourd, and I decided that we’d like to offer the club to all 4th and 5th graders. If you’d like more information, or if you’re interested in signing your child up for Student Leadership Team Club Mondays then please reach out to me at: ablack@northampton-k12.us.

How It Works:
Instead of writing down long essays or lists, we want to talk with you in person!
  1. Fill out and turn in the slip below to the office to Mrs. LeBeau
  2. Meet with one of our team advisors (Ms. Gardiner, Mr. Plourd, Mrs. Lamanna and Mrs. LeBeau)  for a short 5-minute chat during recess to share:
  • Why you want to join the team.
  • What strengths and qualities you bring.
  • Any ideas you already have to make our school awesome!

HEALTH OFFICE NEWS:     
October 2026

Dear Caregivers:
RKF/Ryan Road Elementary School will be conducting mandatory annual health screenings during the week of November 16-20.  We will screen vision for K through 5th grade students, hearing for K through 3rd graders, and perform postural (scoliosis) screening (back checks) on 5th graders only. Students in grades 1st and 4th will also have their heights and weights checked. Students that wear glasses will need to have them available during this time period.  
Scoliosis screening attempts to find early signs of possible spinal problems. It is not a diagnostic exam, but a way to identify students who may need further evaluation.  The postural screening involves checking the backs of 5th graders using privacy screens and hospital gowns. 
If your child has any unusual findings, you will be contacted by mail describing the results, explaining the need for follow-up with your child’s health care provider. Otherwise, you won’t be notified of screenings that fall within normal limits. If your child has had a physical within the last 6 months, and the provider has documented these exams, your student can be removed from the screening list.  Please send me a copy of your child’s most recent physical, either by email, Parent Square or hard copy.
You also have the ability to opt your child out of these screenings.  Put your request to opt-out in writing and send it to me via email. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

  • Our building is a scent free school - please make sure that anytime you're visiting that you refrain from wearing perfume/ cologne or strongly scented body products (for example, hair shampoo/conditioner, hair gel/spray, body wash, deodorant, and lotions).
     
  • Supervision will begin at 7:40 AM on the playground - please do not drop your child off prior to that time.
     
  • School Hours: 8 AM - 2:10 PM
