The kids did an incredible job in their March music concert! The different types of sticks they used to create music were so cool! Personally, my favorite part was the culminating school-wide song—it melted my heart.

One way to share your family's experience with our school this year is to respond to the survey link below. Surveying helps our school community understand how families feel welcome and connected. It also informs us of areas we can grow in related to building partnerships with the families we serve. As a measure of culture and climate, these survey responses will be used during our school council meetings to set family engagement goals and plan for school events. Thank you for participating and for being a valued voice in our school's community. 

When notifying us about your child's absence or submitting a medical note via Parentsquare, please ensure that you send the message to both Vanessa Keillor and Cheryl Michon. If needed, you may also include me in the message.

This is particularly important because Cheryl Michon is not in the building on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesday morning.

Recently, the School Committee approved updates to the Attendance Policy (Policy JH), linked here. Please review this policy as it does address any excessive absences your child may have during the course of the school year and NPS procedures to addressing chronic absenteeism in the district. This policy supersedes information about attendance in the Code of Conduct. Thank you for your attention concerning this matter.

Northampton Public Schools has partnered with Smith College to bring you the summer 2024- 2025 school year K-8 reading challenge! We encourage that all NPS students read (and be read to) and invite you to record the titles on the reading log all summer and year long! There will be prizes for top readers in each school, grade and class to be announced and awarded in June 2025!
